Becoming a Member of the Kirk of the Hills


What is a Church Member?  
A church member is a person who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ as his or her personal Savior, has completed the Membership Class, agrees to abide by the biblical mandates which God instructs His church to operate, and has been welcomed into the church.  In addition, infants and children of believing parents become members of our church through the faith of their parents and the child's covenant baptism. What does it mean to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ?
That is a great question and certainly the most important question in this universe.  As Jesus Christ said, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6)."  Believing in Jesus means that you have repented of your sins to God, confessed your need in Jesus for forgiveness, and have placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. 

What is the Membership Class?
 
Those interested in becoming members must attend a Membership Class before joining the church.  The class is offered approximately twice per year. It is designed to review the foundational principles of faith in Christ, prepare you for taking your vows of church membership, and to equip you to get involved at the Kirk in ways suited to who God has made you to be. We welcome anyone desiring to faithfully worship God, learn more about Christ, walk more in God's ways, and serve according to the gifts He has given us to consider membership at the Kirk of the Hills.  We know there are many wonderful churches in St. Louis, and that the Kirk if only one of them.  However, if you feel God encouraging you and your family to join us, then please prayerfully consider membership into our family.
